Odé Bible

Terms of Use

Last updated: August 27, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and GodSounds, Inc. for the Odé Bible app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

The short version: Odé Bible is Scripture set to music. Some of it is free and some needs a subscription, which the App Store or Google Play bills and you cancel through them. You may listen all you like for your own personal use, but you may not copy, rip, or redistribute the music. The app comes as-is, our liability is limited, and Tennessee law governs any dispute.

1. Who we are

Odé Bible is operated by GodSounds, Inc., a Tennessee corporation. You can reach us at hello@godsounds.com or at the postal address at the bottom of this page. In these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean GodSounds, Inc., and “you” means you, the person using the app.

2. What Odé Bible is

Odé Bible is a listening app. It plays original musical settings of Bible chapters, and it displays the accompanying Scripture text from the King James Version, which is in the public domain. The app works without an account — there is no sign-up and no login.

The catalog grows and changes over time. Albums, chapters, playlists, and features may be added, changed, or removed, and we don’t guarantee that any particular chapter, album, or feature will remain available.

3. Who may use it

The app is rated for ages 13 and up, and you must be at least 13 to use it. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and that parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf. If you are subscribing, you must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live, or have your parent or guardian do it for you.

By using the app you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

4. Free listening and subscriptions

The free tier

Part of the catalog is free to listen to without paying anything. We may change what is included in the free tier over time.

Subscriptions

Full access requires a paid subscription. The price, billing period, and any free-trial length are shown to you in the app before you buy, and again by Apple or Google at the moment of purchase.

Billing, renewal, and cancellation

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us. They renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.

You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple or Google account settings — not in the Odé Bible app, and not by emailing us. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

If a free trial is offered and you don’t cancel before it ends, it converts into a paid subscription automatically. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.

Refunds and price changes

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, since they process the payment. We generally cannot issue refunds ourselves, though you are always welcome to write to us. If we change the price of a subscription, the change will not apply to your current billing period, and Apple or Google will seek your consent before charging the new price.

5. Your licence to use the content

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to stream and — where the app offers it — download for offline listening the music and other content in the app, for your own personal, non-commercial use, on a device you own or control.

You may not:

Playing the music aloud in a private home or personal setting is fine. Using it in a public performance, a church service, a broadcast, or any recording you distribute is not covered by this licence — write to us if you would like permission for that, because we are usually glad to give it.

6. Our intellectual property

The musical settings, recordings, arrangements, cover art, app design, and the Odé Bible and GodSounds names and logos are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership to you.

The King James Version Scripture text displayed in the app is in the public domain and we claim no ownership of it.

7. About the music and the Scripture

The musical settings in Odé Bible are produced with the help of AI music-generation tools, and the sung text is an adaptation of the Scripture arranged to be sung. It is intended for devotional and educational listening. It is not a substitute for reading the Bible itself, and it should not be treated as an authoritative translation. Where the app shows the chapter text, that text — not the sung adaptation — is the Scripture.

We work hard to be faithful to the source, but we don’t warrant that any sung adaptation is free of error or suited to any particular doctrinal, liturgical, or scholarly use.

8. Acceptable use

Don’t use the app to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, interfere with the service or its security, or attempt to gain access to parts of it you haven’t paid for. Don’t use it in a way that disrupts other listeners’ use of it.

9. Changes, suspension, and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, or if we reasonably need to for legal, security, or operational reasons. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it — remembering that this does not cancel a subscription, which you cancel through Apple or Google.

If we discontinue the app entirely while you hold a paid subscription, we will make a reasonable effort to let you know and to work with Apple or Google on an appropriate remedy for the unused part of your term.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The app and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that any content will always be available, or that defects will be corrected.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GodSounds, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the app — even if we have been advised of the possibility of those damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (or paid Apple or Google for the app) in the twelve months before the claim arose, or twenty-five U.S. dollars ($25).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GodSounds, Inc. from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your misuse of the app, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or of anyone else’s rights.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the app will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you are a consumer resident in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring a claim locally, or grants you protections that cannot be waived by agreement, nothing here removes those rights.

14. Apple and Google

Because the app is distributed through their stores, a few specific points apply:

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and post the revised version here. If a change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to flag it in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.

16. General

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.
